South African National Holiday: Freedom Day celebrated in Pretoria and Berlin
The South African National Holiday was celebrated on 27 April 2012 under the motto "Working Together to Build Unity and Prosperity for All". This holiday commemorates the end of apartheid and the first free elections for all South Africans 18 years ago.

In his speech, Ambassador Makhenkesi Arnold Stofile emphasised the strong and strategic relationship between South Africa and Germany. He acknowledged the support by Germany during the South African freedom struggle as well as the commitment of many individuals who brought South Africa where it is today.
Germany and South Africa cooperate on numerous levels.
